Meet. Dr. Ricci Swiderek
Dr. Ricci has a passion for helping people of all ages feel their best. She is a recent graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, where she was honored with Valedictorian and the Clinical Excellence Award.
Dr. Ricci grew up in Cheboygan, Michigan. She was raised in a large family, with three siblings who were constantly playing sports. Dr. Ricci played volleyball, ice hockey, basketball, and softball in high school. After graduating from Cheboygan high school, Dr. Ricci attended Grand Valley State University to pursue a degree in Art and Design, as she was always very interested and involved in art from a young age.
During her time at Grand Valley, Dr. Ricci became very interested in more natural and holistic lifestyles and methods of healing. She switched her major from Art and Design to Biomedical Sciences, in the hopes of eventually going to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Ricci has been a chiropractic patient since the age of 12, and chiropractic has helped her to stay healthy while participating in her many sports activities. She chose chiropractic because it aligned with her passions of helping people and holistic healing. Art continues to be a large part of her life as she teaches painting classes and takes on commissions.
While at Palmer, Dr. Ricci served as a clinical teaching assistant in helping younger students develop their adjusting skills while in the Palmer clinics. Dr. Ricci was valedictorian of her graduating class at Palmer, and the recipient of the Clinical Excellence award, which recognizes outstanding performance in the clinical setting at Palmer. She loves animals, and volunteered at the Scott County Humane Society while at Palmer. She also continued to play both ice hockey and dek hockey while at school.
During her free time Dr. Ricci enjoys painting, being outside, and spending time with friends and family. She also stays involved in sports by coaching volleyball and playing recreational ice hockey. She is happy to be back home, as she loves the sense of community and the natural beauty that Northern Michigan offers. Dr. Ricci is honored to be a part of this community and looks forward to serving Northern Michigan.
